Merry Christmas, everyone!
In the above video I talk you through this lesson. I suggest you read through everything and then view the video.
Even holidays are important to business people, especially business partners who stay in touch with each other over holiday vacation. Today we will learn how to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year in Chinese.
Holidays in Chinese is 节日, and happy is 快乐. Put them together and we have happy holidays in Chinese, which is节日快乐(jie2 ri4 kuai4 le –this is pinyin and how you would pronounce the characters).
Christmas is expressed like this 圣诞节(sheng4 dan4 jie2). And remember happy? If you want to know how to say “Merry Christmas” in Chinese just put them together like this: 圣诞节快乐！（Sheng4 dan4 jie2 kuai4 le）
And next, how do you say happy new year in Chinese? Here’s the answer 新年（xin1 nian2）快乐。If you want to add “wish you balabala” into the sentence, you can say:祝你（zhu4 ni3）,祝 which means wish and 你, which means you.
So now you know how to say: Wish you a happy holiday (祝你节日快乐)，Merry Christmas （祝你圣诞节快乐）, and wish you a happy new year （祝你新年快乐).
Now, go try it out on your Chinese business partner! Let me know how it goes. See you tomorrow.
